The WALKER 3000 combines the proven performance of
NECO Autopilots with the latest digital control technology from
WALKER to produce a NEW adaptive autopilot. The adaptive feature
is normally only found in larger systems. In the adaptive mode the
advanced logic of the control circuitry automatically adjusts
rudder gain, yaw and counter rudder to the optimum values to suite
the vessel's characteristics, prevailing weather and sea state
conditions. The system may also be operated in the non adaptive
AUTO mode with manually set values.
The WALKER 3000 is designed for small to medium
sized vessels up to 50 metres. It is equally suitable for
workboats or superyachts.
The adaptive feature of the WALKER 3000 is unique
in an autopilot of this size. During the setup phase the pilot is
put through a standard manouver procedure. The pilot "learns" the
optimum characteristics over a period of 5 to 10 minutes. Once
this initial stage is complete the pilot will adjust the
parameters to changing sea and weather conditions during normal
use. |
